Agriculture Implementation Technologist at AppHarvest in Eastern, KY
About the Role:
As an Agriculture Implementation Technologist focused on FarmOps at AppHarvest, you will join a team at the forefront of reinventing sustainable agriculture by deploying new and innovative technological solutions which enable increased productivity for our greenhouse operations, developing it from an advanced farm to a factory for food. What You'll Do:
Maintain goals of producing high-value crops while focusing on efficiency and sustainability Conduct studies, perform analyses, and present findings correlating controlled environment systems to crop outcomes Collaborate with deployment team to find and pursue tracking improvements to increase competitive advantages Propose solutions and strategies to resolve problems and conflicts Work with a growing team of technologists and greenhouse specialists to install, update, and troubleshoot automated operations solutions Coordinate technical and operational processes with onsite personnel, including updating and training for newly deployed equipment Help with daily, monthly, and quarterly operations including pest management, task tracking, fertigation testing, climate review, and general plant maintenance Collect data and prepare reports on key performance indicators, including food safety, quality, yield, sustainability metrics, and financial management Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Plant Science, and/or related field Ability to distill and synthesize information through exceptional communication is imperative - you can speak to frontline associates to developers to leadership, and anywhere in between Experienced producing deliverables under traditional project approaches and agile methodologies Strong background (or willingness to learn) in data analysis using R, SAS, Stata, and/or similar programs ideal You embody a we can figure it out mentality and challenge any notion that this can't be done Collaborative and innovative spirit - enthusiastic about building a climate-resilient food system Sharp attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects at a time

Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
